Production & Distribution Tech (Hammond- Part-time)

The Blood Center is now interviewing for part-time, entry-level positions in our Production & Distribution department in Hammond.  This position is responsible for answering the phone and receiving, filling and shipping orders for blood components along with processing and labeling donor units. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record and great customer service skills.

 

The Blood Center offers paid holidays from date of hire, paid time off after six months, health and dental insurance after one year of employment and an employer contributed retirement plan.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

 

Answering the phone, receiving, filling and shipping orders for blood components as per each client’s request, ensuring all pick-ups and deliveries are done, process donor units, modify components, label and properly disposition and inspect blood components for any abnormal appearance.

Hours:Hammond Part-time Weekdays and Saturday or Sunday 3:00pm-11:00pm

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Licenses                                  -           Valid driver’s license

Education                                -           High school diploma or equivalent

                                                -           Medical vocational training preferred

Experience                              -           On-the-job training

Specific Skills                          -           Excellent telephone and customer service skills

                                                -           Ability to accurately transcribe numbers

                                                -          Ability to work well with others

                                                -          Computer knowledge preferred
